Assessment

Our Assessment Standard

Business recognition should reflect demonstrable performance and be independently verifiable by anyone who cares to check. That is the standard the Business Excellence Awards are built to uphold.

Every organisation is assessed against the same criteria, and every award we issue is entered into a public registry — so the credential holds up under scrutiny from buyers, partners, and investors alike.

Assessment Stages

Sequence 01—04

Entry & eligibility

Each submission is logged and checked against category definitions, eligibility requirements, and documentation standards before it advances.

Evidence review

Our secretariat compiles the supporting evidence — performance data, client outcomes, references, and operational context — into a standardised assessment file. Each entry is then scored against the four criteria below.

Independent assessment

The assessment file is scored against the published criteria by our review panel — practising operators and former executives — each reviewer working independently.

Verification & award

Confirmed recipients are issued an official mark of recognition and a unique verification ID that can be independently checked on request.

Evaluation Criteria

Core Metrics
A.

Evidence

Claims are backed by data we can read, not assertions.

B.

Outcome

The measurable result achieved, and its scale.

C.

Relevance

Performance judged relative to sector, size, and stage.

D.

Verifiability

Sources and references we can independently check.

How each criterion is scored

Every entry is scored against these four bands on each of the four criteria. The bands are fixed, published, and applied in the same order to every entry.

A Evidence

Not evidenced
Claims asserted without supporting data.
Partially evidenced
Some claims supported; key figures unverified.
Selection threshold
Evidenced
Principal claims supported by data we can read.
Strongly evidenced
All material claims supported, with sources attached.

B Outcome

Not evidenced
No measurable result stated.
Partially evidenced
A result stated without scale or baseline.
Selection threshold
Evidenced
A measurable result with its scale.
Strongly evidenced
A measurable result with scale, baseline and period.

C Relevance

Not evidenced
Performance not situated against sector, size or stage.
Partially evidenced
Context asserted but not compared.
Selection threshold
Evidenced
Performance judged against comparable operators.
Strongly evidenced
Performance clearly above comparable operators.

D Verifiability

Not evidenced
No sources or references offered.
Partially evidenced
References offered but not independently checkable.
Selection threshold
Evidenced
Sources we can check independently.
Strongly evidenced
Sources checked and confirmed.

An entry must reach Evidenced or above on all four criteria to be selected.

How verification works

A credential anyone can check.

Every award we issue is recorded against a unique verification ID. A buyer, partner, or investor can request confirmation directly and independently verify the recognition.

This is the difference between a claim on a website and a checkable credential — and it is the practical reason our winners can stand behind the recognition in RFPs, tenders, and institutional conversations.
